  • All frown line treatments require a special ingredient to stabilize botulinum toxin A, the protein responsible for helping smooth moderate to severe frown lines. For instance, Botox® Cosmetic uses human serum albumin (HSA), a blood product, as its stabilizer. Dysport®, another frown line treatment, uses HSA as a stabilizer and cow’s milk protein as a protectant.

  • DAXXIFY® is the only frown line treatment powered by a peptide. It’s fast acting, long lasting and slow to wear off.*

  • In short, no, and here’s why. Units are like fingerprints—they are a proprietary measurement of a treatment’s unique potency.

    Because of the differences in how treatments are formulated and tested, you cannot compare or convert Units between them, just like you cannot compare 2 fingerprints.

    A clearer way to understand dosing is to look at how many nanograms of active ingredient (botulinum toxin type A) a product has.

    Double the Units does not mean double the dose.

    As you can see, despite the number of Units, DAXXIFY® isn’t 2x the dose of Botox® Botox® Cosmetic. Each product is unique. Talk to your provider about DAXXIFY® and your aesthetic goals.

  • In 2002, physicians and entrepreneurs founded a start-up in Silicon Valley, California to explore the use of peptides in biologics for different therapeutic uses. Their goal was to utilize peptides to transport biologics, typically large molecules, through the skin.

    The initial idea was to formulate botulinum toxin type A, the active ingredient in DAXXIFY®, with a peptide to see if it could be applied topically to the skin to treat crow’s feet wrinkles. Through this process, scientists discovered that the formulation was optimally administered through injection. Several clinical studies were created to determine the correct dose for an injectable product that would treat frown lines.

  • BOTOX® Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines — the repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, smiling and raising the eyebrows over the years. Your specialist will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice your frown lines between your brows, your crow’s feet lines and your forehead lines temporarily look better.

Remember that results vary from patient to patient though, so your physician will plan your next appointment based on your results and aesthetic goals.

  • Treatment requires minimal downtime. So you can return to your daily routine immediately after you leave your specialist’s office.

  • Three percent of patients experienced eyelid drooping in the frown lines studies, one percent of patients experienced eyelid swelling in the crow's feet studies, and one percent of patients experienced brow drooping in the forehead lines studies. Other possible side effects include: dry mouth; discomfort or pain at the injection site; tiredness; headache; neck pain; eye problems: double vision, blurred vision, decreased eyesight and dry eyes; and allergic reactions.   • Most clinical study participants saw results as soon as 1 month, with sustained results for up to 2 years. Work with your aesthetics professional on a treatment plan. Typical treatment is 3 sessions spaced at least 3 to 4 weeks apart.1-3

  • Massage the treated area to evenly distribute Sculptra. A good rule of thumb is 5-5-5: Massage the injected area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days in a row.1
